Seeing as the electric vehicle market is growing exponentially I think your idea it's not being adopted due to tech limitations is wrong. It's a fairly new market with infastructure being built as we speak. I do agree a solid state battery would be better but that isn't enough to limit the market adopting the tech.

He is also responsible for alot of the division America has today

Rip Cord no worse than a coal mine

They're a fringe. Not exactly the average Democrat. No more so than the people waiting for jfk to come back are the average republican

@John Manley you do point out a few big issues there. First, they're expensive. But so was a combustion car 100 years ago. With more adoption, the prices will drop. Another problem is that so many people in densely populated areas will find it difficult to be able to charge if they don't have a dedicated parking spot to set up a charger. My guess is, through time and as these problems get worse, better ideas will come about, and human ingenuity will prevail. Remember, when the fuel combustion engine was developed, we had 0 refinery capacity in America. Now, we are the biggest in the world

@studebakerhoch4397 it's a troll. Don't feed it

@nigeltufnel6397 pretty sure it's their company moto.

@Dwain Ashton it isn't going to be instantaneous. I agree that tractors and mining/construction equipment wouldn't be suitable for electrification. But, hydrogen is doable for them. It's the same result with zero emissions. There are already fleets of buses on the road that run on it now. This doesn't need to be some crazy partisan topic.

@fischerswherethefunisright123 nothing

Hardly a word? It was all over the news out west for months.

This is the far left. They're just as nuts as the guys waiting for jfk to come back to life. There are crazies on both sides and if that's all we focus on then it would indeed seem like we are lawless. In reality, this is rare. Just like waiting for jfk was.
1
These people represent the average leftist as much as white supremacists represent the average republican. You can pick away at the crazies on either side but it's not helpful.

Why is newt talking about this guy? Why is he on national news?
1
Why is this national news? Why does fox take one guys rant and label all liberals nuts?
1
@To comment why? How is that rational? Why would I live like a hermit while I champion change? It's not hypocritical to survive in the world that you have. It's also not hypocritical to advocate for a better one. Your argument is petty, short-sighted, and juvenile
1
@tocomment2209 ya, didn't notice it was you. I never would have wasted my time answering a troll
1
@To comment Jesus christ man. You're saying I never comment on my own, on a thread started by me. Are you stupid or special?
1
@jonthemachine1970 the mining isn't the issue. It's the burning of the coal that is.

@Danny Timms if you're looking for perfection in this process then you're not being realistic. This trasition will take.time and it will lean on hydrocarbons while it happens. But over time there will be a net benefit to the atmosphere. I for one want my kids to be able to grow up in a world that has water to drink and food to eat.

@Billy H.Gunn first off, if we invest in r&d that is a net positive for American usually. If our scientists can say, find a better way of splitting water for hydrogen it could revolutionize the wold. Or say nuclear fusion. I have always seen America as a country able to innovate their way out of problems. Also, I see European countries that have adopted green energy en mass and have not collapsed because of it. Maybe they haven't electrified their vehicles yet but are on their way to. I don't see how this has to be some big net loss. Lastly, China is already seeing the ravages of climate change on their country. They have also.pledged to lower their emission because they too see the problem. Although not as ambitious as our goals they too are trying. Read their climate reduction plans they sent to the UN.

@ms-dirtfan8715 seeing as they're feeling the effects of climate change more than we are they will be forced to change.
1
@Yank ee well, maybe that's an exaggeration but quickly. Really quickly. Seeing as every major automakers selling them now.

@yankee2666 how so?
1
@Danny Timms ok how about Alberta's tar sands. Literally strip mining for semi liquefied petroleum.
