  17. Defunding the police has not been enacted in any city yet. Certain laws have been passed but no budget has changed in the middle of the fiscal year. There is also a disconnect between what Republicans think it is. It is not to just fire cops. It is to take some of their resources and put it into the mental Health care and drug addiction therapy needed to cut down on the bulk of their overall calls. How many police have training in a how to best deal with a person having a mental break. I don't blame cops because they were never given the tools to fight these problems. This is what "defund police" actually means
