@IWH559 Probably afraid they would get in trouble for the minor children in their custody being in a vehicle with a drunk, middle aged guy they're not related to. They decided to make cops aware of his other crimes to throw the heat off themselves.

 @sgeine They still have guardians that they were placed with after mom lost custody that agreed to step in and take over the parenting role. Nothing OP said was incorrect.

@cheese22 Yes she's such a wonderful grandmother she couldn't even get custody of her own grandchildren for some reason and they had to be put in the custody of their elderly great grandfather and his wife who's not their biological great grandmother (which is why ONLY great grandpa has custody)

Every adult in those twins lives have utterly failed them, including the "concerned" grandma. At least she finally had the decency to call the police I guess. Those elderly great grandparents were in no position to be taking care of 2 teen girls. I truly hope that they are with people who will watch them and take care of them now because they will need a strong support system 😢
