@asavagegarden Meals on wheels people aren’t even social workers, a lot are volunteers, that makes them even more heroic for calling in the welfare check in my eyes because I’m sure she had a social worker who rarely checked in with her and apparently her daughter/children weren’t alarmed that they hadn’t heard from their sickly mother in days.

@McUsernameFace Yes she was an alcoholic but the officers said all of their calls to her residence were when she got drunk and called because she couldn’t find him and thought he was missing, they didn’t say ANYTHING about her being abusive, the only person who mentioned that was the sick monster who took her life. Just because she was an alcoholic that doesn’t mean she deserved what happened to her.

@UhideNcryWhileIseek The cops came as soon as the Meals On Wheels workers called, there was literally one of their workers standing in the hall when the cops were there. The workers called after she hadn’t answered her own door for 2 days.

@SaintShion Thank you for all of the volunteer work you have done, it sounds like your parents did an excellent job raising you and instilling good values in your life.

@Quizack You call your vulnerable senior citizens “oldies” over there? I’m glad I live in the South where we’re taught to respect our elders.

This is so sad sad and infuriating 😢 How did her children allow her to get/live in such deplorable conditions. I know that it’s not always feasible for people to move their parents in with them and take care of them but they could’ve at least went over there and checked in on her, cleaned her house and helped make sure she stayed clean. I know she was an alcoholic and most are mean drunks but ffs, that’s their elderly, sick mother. Maybe this sick monster wouldn’t have taken her life if he knew she had family coming to check on her often. 🤬 It’s even more heartbreaking that Meals on Wheels are the ones who requested the welfare check and not her own family 😢

@sinch4044 The “social workers” that work with meals on wheels are not regular social workers employed by the government. They’re basically case workers for the program and can help them get set up with an actual social worker or other assistance they might need. Most of the people at meals on wheels are volunteers except for a few administrative staff.
