I've had to deal with several city councils in my day. Chambers of Commerce, too. Unless you know how slimy these people are, you don't. Even on the local level, they're greedy swamp creatures. Most of them see Trump as the beginning to an end if his rhetoric catches on. Using community treasuries as personal piggy banks and all the gifts and bribes are about to come to a screeching halt. Like Trump, I've spent tens of thousands of dollars greasing pockets to get projects started. I've had aldermen tell me to take key others out to dinners and dancing at fancy restaurants. That's how city councils get things done.
