  5. I've seen many posts and comments from people on the islands. Not sure how they're charging their phones, etc. Maybe in higher land theres better conditions.

  7.  @hoodoodino2335  no problem. Humans are pretty resilient. Extra batteries or backup battery might be more of an issue than connectivity. Tell your friend to turn his phone off when not in use, and use a camera instead of a phone to take videos.
