@tiggy wiggo not at all. It's a profession and a hobby where a small amount of knowledge goes a long way. The mistakes are very costly in terms of life and money, so less is more when it comes to interference of their operations. We try not to interfere with the surrounding native pollinators, too. It sometimes feels like a juggling act. For me personally? I enjoy the stings to a certain point. I dont enjoy them stressing out and getting angry, though. They're like any other livestock. They need food, water and shelter. Water and shelter are where you place the hive. Food? Sometimes we have to feed them, and even that is relatively inexpensive. Yes. This endeavor is very rewarding in more ways than money.

@tiggy wiggo our host is attempting to discredit beekeepers and rally the troops basing her predetermined prejudices towards an entire class of people that care differently. She is telling herself "beekeeper bad", then rustling up a story to match her narrative. I have no problem with her advocating for helping out OTHER pollinators, but at no point did she even mention butterflies and hummingbirds. They're the ones picking off the Bumble bees... Not me. Get mad at hummingbirds. Declare war on them. Make hummingbird feeders illegal. That would increase the numbers of HER bees by 1000% Thats how many (non honey) bees die in the average back yard like hers.
