@eddydu490 Well? There are generally two types of people in the world. Those afraid, and those brave.
Some people play it safe and are extra cautious, and some people take chances and engage healthy discourse.
Usually the people playing the safe game will let others do the thinking for them, and will typically take a somewhat bigoted position on worldly issues.
Yes. Certain people are rude and say mean things to shut down and make others feel badly or guilty to establish a social heirarchy.
The other types(like me) will try and speak with maybe a little more respect than they deserve until they cross that barrier of attempting to upset my optimism.
That's when I meet them and engage with more aggressive comments when warranted.
You can't do that to your mom. I understand.
Both of you are correct from your own perspectives.
There's noticable instances of bigotry on both sides of this issue.
An honest person will accept their own thoughts on people outside of their own race. Nobody is immune or has control of their thoughts, but they DO have control of their words and actions/reactions.
If someone is in belief with all their heart that racism or bigotry(to be more specific here) exists, it's because they have a small portion in their own hearts.
We see videos of traffic in Bangkok.
Boom. Asian driver jokes. They're funny, too.
Asians with cameras taking pictures of a stop sign. While driving.
When it starts turning into the mean-spirited jokes, then there's a problem for me personally.
There's a cultural boundary. But to exploit that for personal gain is when it gets ugly.
Right now, your mom is being exploited as a political activist by the same people that claim to care about her. Just agree with her, and don't bicker. My Bible tells me to "honor" my mom. It doesn't say I have to agree with her.
There's alot of shitty people teaching their children awful things.
A hundred years ago, Irish people were the ones that got rotten food to eat and had to run into burning buildings for a paycheck.
Now we have black and Asian fire cheifs. Some things just take time for progress to happen. I hope this helped.
