@arturius7462 if he improved standards of living then why did so many Cubans leave Cuba and go to America, the only things he improved about Cuba were the education system and Healthcare, it's said Cuban doctors are the best in the world but other than that Cuba is relatively poor and most people live in poverty, hence why Cubans tend to immigrate to other places in the world especially the US, you're right though that he liberated Cuba from being exploited by the US and from the former Dictator Fulgencio Battista...but I mean....he didn't really improve life for Cubans that much, plus he brutally oppressed gay people and black people were also subject to racism under his regime....so maybe not as bad as Hitler, Stalin, Mao or Pol Pot, like at least he didn't carry out genocides like those 4 did, but he wasn't a saint nor the perfect communist leader, but then again...which politician is a saint anyway.

@n0visual541 still not a valid reason for the CIA to attempt to assassinate him and if you honestly think their reasons were because he was a dictator then you need to recheck your history...the CIA only wanted to get rid of Castro because he was aligned with the Soviets, it had nothing to do with trying to free Cubans of his Dictatorship, in fact the CIA even backed and installed numerous Dictators in Latin America through out the 20th century, Manuel Noreiga of Panama, Fulgencio Battista who was the dictator of Cuba before Castro, they even backed the dictator of the Congo, Joseph Mobutu, South Korean Dictator Park Chung Hee, Taiwanese Dictator Chiang Kai Shek who carried out similar atrocities to Mao Zedong in mainland China, and many many more....so before you call Castro a dictator, which he he definitely was, go look up how many non communist dictators the CIA supported as well and how many Coups they were involved in and how many democracies they destroyed in the Third World.

@tritium1998 I love how you call them fascist imperialists yet in China minority groups like Tibetans, Hui, Mongols, Manchus and Uyghurs are being brutally oppressed, China is attempting to expand its borders into Kashmir and Nepal, North Philippine Sea and even parts of the Ocean around Japan, China is supporting the enslavement of lower class North Koreans by the Kim dictatorship in North Korea, China forcefully invaded and colonized inner Mongolia and Tibet when these countries clearly wanted their independence, China is currently using brutal acts of Violence to suppress pro democracy protests I'm Hong Kong, China is currently strong arming its way through Africa, promising poor African countries financial aid to help us build infrastructure but when we can't pay back because our countries are poor they end up taking ownership of said infrastructure anyway and pocket all the money for themselves.....yes Western countries are very imperialistic, I agree with you, but don't come and pretend like China isn't exactly the same, I'm South African and I see what your government and corporations are doing on our continent, it's no different from the Western imperialists you pointing fingers at, so screw you, CCP hypocrite!

@arturius7462 oh I mostly agree with you don't worry, you're right about the US behaving like assholes and about the blockade which made it impossible for Cuba to build its economy, but it still doesn't mean he's not a dictator, authoritarianism is Dictatorship, I mean why make things harder then for your people by not allowing private business ownership or freedom of expression when things are already difficult for your country, especially since private business ownership could have immensely boosted the country's economy, they could have become self sufficient like many other countries before, Japan was once self sufficient, Libya before it's collapse was completely self sufficient, Dubai, Taiwan, Singapore, all countries that had to become self sufficient on their own in the beginning, Cuba could have been the same....but he and his communist party refused to allow that to happen and That's what makes him a dictator, yes the US is to blame for like majority of problems faced by Cuba and other Latin American countries, but you can't act like Castro was totally innocent and blameless, he lived in luxury while majority of his countrymen starved

@pdxdragon7479 uhm no that isn't a lie at all, maybe try to do some actual research, the US has had military personnel and at some point even nukes set up in Eastern Europe....that was what caused the initial Cuban Missile crisis, because the US set up nukes in Turkey or one of those places and in response the Soviet Union set up nukes in Cuba....like I know it's difficult to see nuances in these situations, and you love to see America as the good guy all the time and the Russians as the bad guys, because I mean that's what your media feeds you, but in the same way the US scrambled to defend its borders during the Cuban missile crisis, that is exactly what Russia is doing right now.... however Putin could have done it more diplomatically instead of going all out war, but then again the US has done the exact same shit to protect its interests in the world, just look at how y'all bombed the middle East into Medieval times to protect your oil interests, when prior to these invasions countries like Iraq were very secular and advanced.....I see it as two sides of the same coin, especially since I come from Africa, a continent that has been ravaged of its resources by the West and the East....you are are all the same in my eyes.... democracy and freedom fly out the window when resources, money or power are involved....so no....Jake isn't lying, you're just too indoctrinated by your so called "freedom" to see clearly

It's the same with all these A.I bros though, they are all going to defend the thing that makes them a lot of money and not pay attention to the risks involved before it's too late, it even happened with the people that developed the Atomic Bomb, they were all giddy and excited and supportive until they actually detonated one and saw the after effects of radiation fallout as well and just hoe destructive it was, then suddenly they wanted to regret... This same researcher is going to regret what he said here in this interview in the future... A. I is not like the telephone, it's not even remotely close, so even his analogy and comparison is stupid... But that's what you get from people who lack any sense of self awareness
Also his thing of people having the privilege to be creative... Well not everyone is creative, like I understand getting robots to do dangerous jobs and to make certain jobs easier and faster to do... But getting automation to do everything, is just going to lead to complacency and laziness, we won't be productive anymore, we won't be creative, why would we need to if A.I can just do all of that for us, there won't be a drive to work or progress...that is not "democratization"...but this is typical of Silicon Valley tech bros who sit behind desks all day and haven't done any manual labour to have this kind of view

@andrewphillips8341 So just because he left out one minor detail....his content is garbage...wow okay, talk about extremely high expectations....I'm South African and personally I think he hit the nail on the head about the Taxi Mafia here, also Jake seems to get a lot of his information from common sources...do you honestly think the ANC is going to allow the information regarding their involvement in the Taxi war to become mainstream? Majority of South Africans don't even know about it, and if you think it's just the ANC well dude you've got to delve even deeper because Johan Rupert, one of the richest men in SA is even involved in the taxi Mafia and so are literally almost every other political party in SA too, as well as private corporations, and crime bosses...that rabbit hole goes way to deep for Jake to cover in a 10 to 15 minute video, he'd have to do an entire investigative documentary to cover it all and you seem to forget one thing, he's American, he's not South African, he won't fully be able to grasp the cultural and political workings of how things work here, because he's not from here, same way you wouldn't be able to grasp the inner workings of the Japanese Yakuza or Chinese Triads because you aren't from there, you'd only scratch the surface as much as he did with that video....but for an American perspective on a South African issue, he nailed it, and unlike other America perspectives on our country it was well researched and unbiased.

@ralofofriverwood4806 and it sounds to me like you're trying to excuse the dangers of painkillers, anti depressants, and other forms of pharmaceutical drugs....do you live in the same world as us?? Because if you did you'd recognise that everything has negative side effects and health consequences if misused, how come alcohol is legal? When it can lead to liver and kidney failure, domestic violence, car accidents? How come cigarettes are legal when they lead to lung cancer? Why is fast food legal when it leads to obesity and heart problems? Why is candy legal when it leads to diabetes? All diseases that people can die from as well, why are painkillers and anti depressed or anti anxiety medication legal when they are all made from the exact same substance that goes into heroin, which is opium? There are also painkillers and anti depressants that use Marijuana as well, I guess you should stop taking prescribed medicine then because they all contain the exact same substances you can find in "illegal drugs"
You don't seem to know much about the world or about drugs, maybe you should go do some actual research and educate yourself....or how about you do an experiment, how about you eat only McDonald's for two months straight and then tell us what happens to your body
If you're going to look at psychedelics as being this absolute danger to society but ignore all the fast food, alcohol, candy, cigarettes, pharmaceutical drugs that can also cause bodily harm and death, then you got a lot of learning to do my friend
I know of people who have died from overdosing on painkillers and others who've had multiple health problems from junk food and pharmaceutical medicine as well

@shannonhill3356 hence why it should be legalized so that it can be properly implemented in society and regulated, Portugal did that, and now they have actual clinics you can go to to get high on drugs, and the clients are monitored and only specific doses are given, and if there's any issues, then doctors and first responders are on sight to assist and help.... Amsterdam has the same set up, and so do the Ayahuasca resorts in South America, this way you can ensure people don't harm themselves or others when they have a bad trip, prevent overdoses and other drug related problems...and the best part, in those countries it has helped lower the crime rate especially dealt a heavy blow against crime organizations that form the black market drug trade
My country South Africa legalized marijuana a few years ago as well with a few regulations, but we have marijuana stores all over now and it has also helped reduce drug related crime a lot

@Woodsaras I wish you virtue signalling wokesters would stop using the Ukraine Russia war to boost your moral egoes.....there are always multiple sides to any war, no one here is saying Putin is a good guy, we're just trying to unpack his character and his past and Russia's history to see how it could have led to him making the decisions he's made so as to learn from the experience and possibly avoid it in the future, it's similar to what detectives do when trying to catch a serial killer....and NATO has also made a number of mistakes that led to this problem as well, so has Zelensky....the one thing that all 3 parties involved are commonly guilty of is refusing to talk and communicate effectively with one another, instead flexing their egoes and going on mad power trips, with Putin probably being the most guilty but the other two not being completely spotless either...the only real side one could be on is the side of ordinary citizens who are getting caught up in this war , who's lives are being torn apart while the f*cking politicians are sitting comfortably in their luxurious homes, protected by bodyguards and private military escorts and barking orders...but this side picking nonsense that you social media activists are doing just reeks of virtue signalling and a lack of understanding of the history, politics and social mechanisms that created this war in the first place.... Not saying Putin is a good person, he's a dictator who's causing untold suffering, and for that he should be punished but there are things that NATO could've done to prevent this as well but they chose to turn a blind eye

@andriod8014 Uhm no... we'd rather have no one do that, like honestly how are you even justifying it like that? Bullying is bullying....go ask the countries that the US fucked with if they'd prefer them or China, go ask the countries where the US propped up brutal dictatorships, or collapsed the economy and the government if they are happy that the US did it instead of China, as someone from a developing nation, I view both the US and China as 2 sides of the same coin and I would love for both of them to stop their greedy land grabbing and exploitation of my country and other third world developing countries, the US fucked over the Philippines in the past too, so did the Spanish, Japan and now China, I don't see where there's a lesser evil, they are all equally full of shit in my eyes.

@xjksg then that exact same logic should be applied to the US as well, Afghan homes were destroyed, Afghan people were dying, including children, including, Yemeni, Vietnamese, Iraqi, Syrian and literally every country that the US has f*cked with, if those people all suffered then Americans should also suffer....if we're going to use this approach of sanctioning and collapsing economies that start wars or invade other countries, it should apply to every country in the world
