  1. 1991 - 2010 . Russian Oilfield and Production upgraded by western companies using specialised western contractors who have now all pulled out and are working elsewhere. The same has happened to the Russian electric grid. The engineering companies like Siemens did an upgrade on the western sector of the Russian grid but when the war started Siemens brought their russian engineers out and they now also work else where. All these specialised workers and equpiment are now needed in russia and they dont have them ... russian winter 2024 will be rough . no electric . no diesel

I worked on contract with Russian companies on rigs , drilling & exploration , in Middle East where they were partners with nationla oil companies like ARAMCO or just straight with Rosneft in Iraq...very odd fellows ... they were very strict but that did not help them. They seem to walk blindly into obvious contractual traps, drilling in places that Aramco knew (even I knew) there was littel prospect ....Viktor was the Comapny Man on one rig "Speak" "go" was his english and when he spoke with the base it was with a similar tone. I got the feeling that they had to work hard and that is not a criticism...but the fear of being "run off" and sent back to Russia was always running in the background. In the end I got on well with some of them after we had a few arguements and then they relaxed more. I could see that a light had been lit as they understood how they might get out of their terrible situation simply leaving the Russian Oil Company and joining a Western one where they could do the same job but not under such duress and stress. Americans are not much different BTW ...unemployed in USA is pretty grim if you have to keep up the health insurance for your family...thank f i am british...is all i think now ..retired ..TF also

  6. Hodges has been consistant and has described the situation well. Russia can be forced out of Ukraine. The Russian people are not fighting for Russia , they are fighting because they need the sign up bonus. Sending "disposables" into battle is madness in this day and age. The Russian Ruble is down the toiet and the inflation and interest rates all point to collapse. North Korean economy collapsed ages ago and has survived as a slave state . Russia is a white mans North Korea

The culmination of the Russian Offensive in the Donbas and the rapid Ukrainian incursion into Kursk with the possibility of further incursions into Bryansk and Belgorod give Ukraine the chance to use manouvre warfare against Putins larger numbers. The weather will soon become a factor and Syrskyi is no doubt preparing. The ukrainian Strategy is not obvious and operations have had much needed secrecy ...Budanov was once a behind the lines commando and Syrskyi won the Battle of Kyiv 2022. good track record for these 2

UK has been a democratic monarchy since (Bill of Rights) 1689 and the first item is "no authority without consent of our parliament" ...UK , Oz, Nz, Canada and more fight for the King (not the EU). The miss understanding that UK is a country on its own and can be governed from the European mainland has been a miss understanding that has been corrected innumarable times in history.
