Ok, I'll try a different metaphor to illustrate my point, but I do quite understand where you are coming from, commercially speaking, when saying parts and OS's come from the realm of almost 100% privately funded R&D, distribution, and marketing, and discounts the open source phenomenon. Automobiles. Privately designed, built, marketed, sold, but regulated to many standards. They, however, run on mostly public roads. The internet was developed on mostly Public money. ARPANET being the big one.

But you won't ever find them replacing Detailers, because that requires sophisticated & flexible work. This one does NOT land at the feet of a $15 wage. It lands at the feet of one of the few jobs a giant drive in robot can do, and has done, for some time. If McDonalds or Pizza Hut suddenly were 100% automated, then you would see people not buying their food, which is a completely different dilemma from a car wash. Because the moment a dead rat or cockroach got into someone's Big Mac or Super Size Fries pack that the robots are never going to be savvy enough to identify, then that franchise is toast.

Taking control of content access is no different from a recording studio telling an artist what they can release, because of course BUSINESS knows best. THIS is about an industry, an industry fighting to hold a golden market to themselves, which generates no content of it's own, to charge you for content. PERIOD. This story is as old as business itself, vis-a-vis drug dealing, pimps, arms trafficking, and slavery.
