If you're large enough that you're filling out DEQ reports every year, then you're spending thousands and thousands annually for disposing of used blast media and solvents. Far more than you paid for the media and chemicals. Everything from bead blast and urea to sand gets saturated with waste or breaks down after use. It was my job to manage the waste streams, contracts for recycling and disposal, and compliance with our air and waste water permits. Liquids were by far the worse, because you generally pay for waste by the pound and lab results of contaminants. It was kind of a maxim that what seems cheap at first will just cost you much more in the end.

  167. The one racing sim game that I feel is still horribly missing is to recreate the Baja 1000. Open world, possibly even MMO and Procedure Generated. No on-rails tracks, no laps, but a legit big-desert enduro scramble where navigation, fuel and the durability of your ride's components actually matters. The possibilities for Top Gear Grand Tour shenanigans would be pretty ripe, too.
