  6. It's called free will. Character and courage is when you keep your will free by not letting circumstances dictate what kind of person you are. In this way, he was the ultimate weakling. It's like when people claim ignorance or a lack of education leads to bigotry. This is false. There's plenty of hateful & educated people with plentiful exposure to diverse views and states of being. They simply decided they like being that way, usually because it's advantageous to them. You can't educate away free will, and you can try to lay evil choices at the feet of circumstance in search of an alibi, but in the end...it's your will. You (and he) did it. Own it.
