Kinda already happened. The Colorado River doesn't reach Mexico and the ocean anymore because it's sucked dry by Arizona dumping river water into artificially filled tourist lakes, watering pointless lawns and golf courses, and irrigating crops that shouldn't be grown in the damn desert in the first place by siphoning off most of the Colorado river water into the Central Arizona canal. Much of which just freakin' evaporates.

To get off the Abortion wagon for a second here, one should take a grain of salt when listening to anyone describing themselves as an "animal rescue shelter". When it's legit, it's wonderful. Too often, they're just pet hoarding attention seekers who want you to Oooh and Aaah. They get their rocks off claiming everyone abuses every animal, everywhere. Because they want you to pat them on the back and tell them how cool they are. Many of them are full of shit, and are guilty of packing barely cared for animals in their OWN kennels. Crazy Cat Lady syndrome. I'm not saying that's the situation here, but it's to be considered EVERY time you hear the label.
