The year we finally took the 80's off life support
1
PEPSI MAN! ba-dump-dump PEPSI MAN! *angry nerd noises*
1
Spank me, royal Dommy Mommy. Ballgags are only for Saturdays.
1
"It sounds like something terrifying and deadly" Sooooo...something you do to Frat pledges during rush week?
1
Max Thrax sounds like an 80's metal cover band
1
As will single unit apartments in NYC in the Village. At least you don't have to shell out $3k a month to stay at Ryker's, and you get free a continental breakfast
1
@Jonny5a Sometimes, you gotta put a prince's head on a pike to simmer those darn peasants down, lest they ALL be on pikes. I think that's rule #34 in the Royal handbook for when all attempts to bury a scandal have failed
1
Just here for the "It was cold outside and I showed up in a Toga" puns
1
Yeah, well, we're careening right back into a neo Victorian era. Someone, anyone...harumphs about anything they don't 'approve' of today can snowball into you living on the streets. And they have the electrontic tools in their pocket to go digging for that anything in moments. Sound familiar? We don't live in an era where people understand the phrase 'mind your own business'
1
Capo: Alright, listen up, you's mugs! We's gonna buy-in after that last job and combo a few rounds before dropping into the gobble hole, then ride a multiball up the habitrail into a hurry up mode from the inlane to the backbox for the jackpot. Alright, you guys got that??
1
The glory days. When McNuggets were still made with greasy chicken rather than recycled packing peanuts, and had those little grissly chunks in every 3rd one you bit into. You know the ones.
1
And everyone all thought Russ Meyer sexploitation flicks were over the line, lol
1
90% of Americans from this generation couldn't figure out WTF Iran-Contra was even about in '87. Plot was tooo Machiavellian, even with news spelling it out. 99% of todays generations can't figure it out now. Even with a flowchart, they would ADHD-out and lose interest because it can't fit in a 1-picture meme.
1
Laying the groundwork for all the toys in modern swingers clubs
1
And here you thought the Romanovs trusting a dirty monk was dangerous and silly. The Romanovs didn't have nukes.
1
That Robotech drop hit me right in the Youth balls Only thing good about being too poor to watch Fraggle Rock on cable: Robotech, Voltron, and Speed Racer on Public Access UHF channels
1
FDR could've just wrote his novel about the 1933 Business Plot by wealthy conservatives to kidnap and overthrow him in a fascist coup. At least it would have had the opener "This story is based on true events"
1
@fezzik7619 Tell that to Lincoln
1
Posted the very day of his friend Tawny Kitaen's passing. Tragedy and comedy really is all about timing, I guess.

The Cuckold Road

And 135 years later, we're still carrying their bags.
1
"Team USA athletes won 174 medals" And as a consequence, Americans had never been fatter
1
An adult. 45 years later, I still haven't managed
1
No. No, 35k murder bees DOES sound worse than a mouse & roach problem that would make any Motel 6 envious.
1
History of the Monarchy of the Netherlands and it's modern relationship with the states general, PUH-LEASE
1
Brussel Sprouts seared in bacon fat and a little salt is a depression food my Great Grandmother created a family trend of serving with any grilled meat that survives to this day. Strange to me that it's considered a fancier side dish in steak houses today, and the only reason I save bacon grease. It's like whiskey. You hate it when you're a kid, but as an adult you dig the savory, smoky flavor.

I think people don't understand how catty and bitchy all the revolutionary war leaders were. Or how glory seeking. A large portion were one step away from being another Benedict Arnold. And everyone you ever heard of was somehow annointed a colonel or general, even if they only had a platoons worth of militia troops under arms. The behavior of the leadership during wartime was often both juvenile and criminally self serving. The story of Paul Revere's court martial is a classic example of the pervasive primadonna drama that ruled the day, and how it was taken seriously.
1
lol, I love that people still act like Fawkes was some hero. Especially after he almost killed James Hetfield in '92 at Montreal
1
I can't believe they didn't mention Melanie Griffith's breakout role in Cherry 2000. Which also was a purely VHS choice.
1
This is what you get for letting the Jay Dubz (Jehovah's Witnesses) direct the marketing for a Government Anti-Drug program
1
@JimJones-gd2jy You could describe ANY business in the US today like that. Of any size. From Bob's Neighborhood Bar to Goldmann Sachs, a good businessman never lets his customers health get in the way of his cash register with something silly like requiring masks to enter the premises. You might suffer a 5% dip in profits. Unacceptable. QUITE unacceptable.
1
Because it was a sausage fest. Duh.
1
Don't have to be. Everyone who ever styled themselves an operator too cool to fill out a DA Form 2062 or 5988E to keep the truck fixed can see for themselves how well skipping out on logistics is working out for the Russians right now. Right about now they all wish they were filling out the Rusky equivalent of a 4187. Requesting a transfer to anywhere else.
1
People are spooked by the CIA. Mystified about the NSA. Detest the IRS. Fear the FBI. Concoct conspiracies about the CDC. But the mailman is the only federal agent who comes by your home and goes through your mail almost every day.
1
Only if it includes Gacy and ICP

Me, drunk in a XXXL Dickie's T-shirt and no pants: But Officer, it's a Tunic. THAT'S A REAL THING!
1
5 year sentence for a two-time dimestore button man. For good behavior.... Oh yeah, that's good sentencing right there.
1
No similarity at all. The people price gouging and scalping today don't even remotely feel guilty about it, and consider it 'Capitalism Working as Intended'
1
After spending nearly a century trying to get OUT of that inquisitorial lifestyle, I think not

Mmmm. Brown Bag era Ham Slice. a.k.a the Pork Flavored Salt Lick with Sea Water. Although I still stand by the Omelette Loaf as delicious. Fight me if you don't agree.

2001 Ford Exploder has joined the chat
1
I think you need to go up a level on that. Royalty is a stupid, archaic tradition powertrip that needs to end.
1
I think I'd like my last meal to be steamed chicken & broccolli. I'm watching my weight.
1
Fun fact: My story originally took place in 1899, back when I was delivering meat to chinese railworkers. Lo Pan stole my horse.
1
Burial Shaft: fancy term for dumping bodies down a booby trapped sewer manhole
1
lol, imagine the chaos a currency change, in either name/quantities/value per unit, would cause today.
1
Woman's Christian Temperance Union. Those hotties look like they knew how to party.
1
Sadly, 1984 was about as good as it got for the next 36 years
1
Correct. I've referenced several academic sources and fact checked this comment, and yes, you do need to fart. You may proceed.
