  1. I was saving my money for the Tacoma Hybrid. But now they're not coming to the US til early next year. AND will shamelessly have at least $5k in markups at every dealer coast to coast. So I looked at the RAV-4 Prime. Same deal. Walked off the lot in disgust. Toyota is spoiled by success. Driving by the Honda lot, saw the Audi-like CR-V style, so I got the Sport Hyrid L for MSRP. Deal. Just wish we could have the PHEV in the States now. But I'm out of time. Had to pull the trigger on some flavor of hybrid or PHEV gas saver with cargo space this year, and couldn't stomach the Hyundai's interior.

  2. Oh good, it wasn't just me taking crazy pills & thinking the Volvo XC60 Recharge is trading some panel parts with the CR-V somehow. Which this channel should DEFINITELY compare the CR-V PHEV against as peers when it finally arrives.

  3. I just want the damn PHEV CR-V But Honda needs this to be a hit in the US as their first true EV, so they won't risk the PHEV CR-V competing with it.

  4. I'll be very pleased with the LFP battery of the base model if for no other reason than having no fears about charging it up to 95 or 100 percent every night. Yes, LFP is about 25% heavier like-for-like vs LI-ION of my '21 model Y, but when you can charge 20% more daily without fear, it really only comes out to a 5% weight to capacity difference and lots more piece of mind.

  5.  @TYPICALTRYHARD_  Because I already have a '12 Taco for towing, what I needed wasn't more horsepower, which is all the new Tundra does with that iForce hybrid system, not save miles. The Ford Lightning is a hunk of junk, the Rivian is just too damn expensive, and the Maverick hybrid only comes in 2WD

  7.  @keithball6480  I wasn't thrilled with buying a crossover SUV in the first place, but had the CR-V hybrid for a month now. I still think there's a few too many 'new fangled' gizmos stuffed into cars that drive prices up for silly luxuries, but I have to admit: I love the car now. It's just dialed. The steering, suspension, weight, fitment, and snappy but not overbearing hybrid powertrain. And it's subtly tasteful. Nothing garish or clashing. I haven't had a Honda in a long time, so I wasn't expecting this much polish and the tight driving characteristics. Even if the current 'honda tax' at MSRP isn't great when everyone is going KIA or Hyundai to avoid it, I don't regret switching back from 'Yota to Honda. It feels like a higher class brand now. By honoring MSRP, I feel Honda gave me the better deal. There was something a little chintzier about the current Toyota level of polish and design vs their old rival from Japan. Not much, but enough. Very adult, not like my old Integra ricer for hooning around town in.
