  1. False. I've fought fires in NoCal and Southern Oregon as a Class II since the 90's. The quanitity of individual fires may have grown to reflect the number of people with some parity, but the SIZE and ferocity of each incident and our ability to contain and mop up has grown far, far out of proportion to the headcount of people suggests. The cause is the amount of fuel sitting at dangerous temperatures and dessication has increased, and having longer fire seasons each year. Fires then are not the same as the fires now
