Putin has his pet President continue fanning the flames of hostility with some political moves, knowing the Chinese ego is a fragile, easily triggered thing. In the end, Putin cozies up to the PRC, continues to degrade the US from the inside, and fractures the EU apart from the outside. Pure Bond Villain moves.
