  2.  Smoke Tree  you seem to not understand the meaning of the word universal. But why would we need to have the government pay people who are employed by the private sector? Shouldn't people working be paid a living wage by their employer? So in short I don't agree with any aspect of your comment. The people working at home are lucky and able to continue to pay their bills the 50 million Americans who lost their jobs through no fault of their own during a global pandemic are the ones who need government assistance to keep making their payments. If your employer pays you so little you need a UBI to pay your rent you definitely need to join the fight for a living wage.
