Yup we need rank choice voting in all 50 states that is what will open the door for multiple parties and force our candidates to give us something to vote for not against.

@donHooligan don't get me wrong I registered Democratic party to vote for Bernie Sanders in the primary. But my point is the Parties are most worried about a new left party actually gaining support because it would end the lesser of 2 evils progressives have no where to go. I think the reason we saw Jill Stein voters shamed and not the right wing 3rd party voters is because the establishment isn't worried about a threat from the right they know that spectrum is covered. But the left is where the majority of non voters are. People who are disenchanted with both parties but consider themselves conservative register independent. All the independents I personally know and there are plenty typically vote Republican and where Republicans before they decided the Republican party was too currupt. Ofcourse that never makes since to me why give up your chance to vote in the primary? A few of them do pick a primary to vote in as NH allows that but most independents I know are one step removed from non voters they will vote in the general election if there is enough fearmongering to convince them they need to. The establishment isn't threatened by those voters they simply fight for them to vote for both parties. So my take is we need a real 3rd party. Honestly with so many Americans disenchanted with the 2 parties we have there is no reason that a 3rd party which actually reaches put to voters couldn't get more votes. I know they tell us it is a 2 party system but we can have more parties and the reality is the majority of Americans are not committed to either party only about 1 in 5 Americans I would guess are in the vote blue no matter who or trump Republicans. The other 60% of all Americans would actually consider a serious 3rd party candidate. The fear of the spoiler effect is only because the public hasn't been active enough in politics to pull in enough of the half of all Americans who don't vote. The current protests and comming great depression will change that. Anyway my take at the moment is vote for the progressives regardless of where they run. If the Democratic party refuses to support policy that the majority of the voters want they won't get my vote I will however vote so they know they lost the vote and the best way I can see to do that is to vote green party. That party actually has a platform I agree with. Maybe that is throwing away my vote but if Biden wants it all he has to do is support M4A. It is the lowest bar during a pandemic to fix the broken healthcare system. But I don't expect either party to cross that bar.

@donHooligan I hear you. I actually think Nick I don't remember his last name who was involved with the Bernie Sanders campaign has the best hope of a 3rd party in the people's party but they are not ready to put a candidate on the ballot in November. Unfortunately this election is lost for progressives. The best we can do is keep up the fight. Support the protesters and support the movement for rank choice voting. I think it is the only way we will actually get control back of our government from the wealthy. I actually think rank choice voting is easier to get then money out of politics too. It is why I am waiting to see who wins the Senate seat in Maine. I honestly think the progressive independents have a good chance of winning because you can vote your values and still vote for the lesser of 2 evils. I think this will prove more powerful then Wolf-pac.com fighting to get money out of politics.

Voting green party would be more effective it will send the message that we have somewhere else to go. The DNC moves right chasing voters that have a different choice we need that on the left a party to take votes from the DNC

@donHooligan you chose not to read the why. What to you hope to gain by writing in Bernie? You won't get enough votes for him to win. So what is the end game? I told you what the end game for a 3rd party is.

@donHooligan you still didn't tell me what your end game is. Mine is to fight for rank choice voting and 3rd party candidates so we have an alternative. You are just offering to vent your frustration that Bernie Sanders didn't win. It will make you feel better but doesn't lead to any change for the future. The same as how half of all Americans not voting hasn't moved the Overton window in the USA to reach those non voters because the only thing the plutocrats care about is their power writing in someone who lost the primary doesn't challenge their power. Rank choice voting and a 3rd party does. Look into the fight against rank choice voting in maine it was joined by both parties because the know it will take away their chokehold on the government.
