So what do they do with the plastic after they round it up? Seems like that would be a key part of the story.

@paul5899 do they have floating recycling plant with them at sea or plans with someone to take it for recycling because China has largely refused to accept more recyclable goods. As to the land fill idea well as long as you don't mind your ground water polluted with micro plastics so who is willing to takes tons of waste plastic in their landfill? Like I said there is a big question as to where do you dispose of the waste they collect. Remember we float garbage barges out to see and dump trash because we don't have a place to put our trash that is how most of this plastic ended up out there to begin with.
