@MrJayb76 actually AOC suggested 60 to 70% for a top marginal tax rate for income over 10 million dollars. Only the far right propaganda machine doesn't understand how marginal tax rates work. No one is calling for a 70% tax rate on all earnings.

@MrJayb76 Bernie isn't telling AOC to shut up he campaigned for her. He simply disagrees with her on what the top marginal tax rate should be but both agree it is far too low today.

@MrJayb76 Here is what Ocasio-Cortez told 60 Minutes: "You look at our tax rates back in the '60s and when you have a progressive tax rate system, your tax rate, let's say from zero to $75,000, may be 10 percent or 15 percent, etc. But once you get to the tippy-tops — on your 10 millionth dollar — sometimes you see tax rates as high as 60 or 70 percent. That doesn't mean all $10 million are taxed at an extremely high rate, but it means that as you climb up this ladder, you should be contributing more."

@MrJayb76 nope if you make 10 million plus 1 dollar she will tax 70 cents on the dollar over 10 million. You need to learn how marginal tax rates work. I don't know how greedy you are but if I make 10 million and one dollars I wouldn't complain about an additional 70 cents of tax.

@renecurry6551 yes I love the logic he has that we can't raise taxes on the 1% because they want pay taxes but then they are currently paying the bulk of the taxes. These right wing nuts can't even keep their story straight for 2 posting in a row. Either they pay a lot of taxes now or they avoid all their taxes which is it?
