  2.  scott richardson  I need government roads to sell you something because i don't think you are going to walk through the woods to get to my house and lug it home with you. I also need goverment backed currency to sell you something otherwise it is a barter exchange and you have to have something I value and need to trade for the thing I have. So yes you need governments. I also need police to enforce the rule of law to sell you something otherwise you will simply come in the middle of the night or with a gun and take it without giving me anything of value in return.

  3.  @cf6713  the top 20% get over 90% of the income in the USA so ofcourse they pay a higher percentage of the gross taxes. But if you look at the taxes per percentage of earning the wealthy actually pay a lower percentage of their earning in taxes.

  8.  chris widney  when the money runs out we might have to only spend as much as the next 9 countries combined on the military instead of the next 10. We might even get so radical as to stop fighting forever wars. Somehow people never seem to ask how will we pay for the ever increasing military budget.

Single payer healthcare is proven the world over to save money if you can't understand that you are the one who doesn't understand ecominics.
