The real crime is that as a society we think it is normal for companies to return billions of dollars to rich people who don't work at the company and most have probably never even set foot inside a company while the workers who do the labor to earn that money don't get a living wage. The only way to get raises for the last few decades has been to bounce from job to job. More then once I have handed my resignation only to have my boss ask what it will take to keep me. My answer has always been you had your chance. I did all the work to find another job why should I stay here where I know you won't offer me raises I will take my chances somewhere else where they might value their workers more. It always leaves your boss with a look of pure shock and awe.

This has been addressed before in history and will be again. The only question is do we follow the model of recovery after the great depression when the barrons of industry where broken up in the USA leading to the golden age of the 50's 60's 70's and 80's or do we follow the French revolution when the the French people solve the issue a bloody revolution. The Dark I was raised in a very conservative Republican household. But I am often reminded of Ronald Reagan saying that he didn't leave the Democratic party it left him. I feel the same way about the Republican party they are not conservative they are for the wealthy and war. That isn't how I was raised. I was raised that when you have more then others you help them out. As to college I would rather see the college paid based on performance. A system where you agree to pay them x% of your income for y years after you graduate. I don't know what those two numbers are but as the conservatives like to say with taxes the college needs to have skin in the game. It would end all these degrees which don't lead to jobs and it would limit the cost to match the outcome. We go to college to earn a better living so make the cost reflect their success or failure in that respect. I would also add that if you have certain GPA and your unable to find work and the college can't find you work in a year from graduation then you don't have to pay for the degree because it was a failure on their part. Colleges shouldn't get rewarded for giving out useless degrees.

Typically crap I have no tolerance for and let them know quickly that it is racist to not trust a stranger simply because they don't look like you. I have had people tell me certain farms hire illegal immigrants when I asked them how they know that they say just look. But if you actually take two second to talk to the help you find out they where raised in new England simply by their accent without asking. So clearly the people calling them illegal never actually talked to them just saw them on the property. Bigotry and racism is a real problem across both states. It is more suttle only because there are less people who are minorities around. But it is also little things. Go into a grocery store and you will see people avoid a checkout line if the cashier. Things like that.

Will allow her to better stand up to the military industrial complex and the oil industry both of which will band together to try and keep us in the oil wars and using ff which is killing our planet. Make no mistake these wars are the USA empire forcing other nations to give is access to their oil on our terms. But my point is you get the local focus on our citizens for healthcare and other issues with both Bernie and Nina. She can sit in the room and when they try to say you as a civilian just don't understand the military she can call their BS and say wrong I was boots on the ground for two tours. I think that is critical for cutting back our over used and over built up military. We spend more on the military then we spend educating our children. I could probably count the non whites in town and have fingers left to spare. There are some but not many. I appreciate what your saying there. The thing to me is VP is sort of a powerless job. Think back over all the people you know who where VP and then try to think up one thing they did in that job. Our current wallflower is really normal for that roll. In that respect I think a cabinet position would actually have more power for Nina Turner. I honestly don't know all the cabinet positions and which would be best. But I could for example see Nina doing more good as secretary of state then as VP. In that roll she would have more freedom to get out in front of the public and speak openly on issues. But honestly I would be open to her in any position.

Bernie, AOC and Ro Khanna have started to do that already I just wish the Bernie town halls would become the progressive town halls and we would have more involvement. Just think of the impact it would have if we had one of these every week or two with a different group of politicians sharing the work load. Not to mention the contrast with the GOP who are hiding from the voters and refusing to hold town hall meeting to talk to them. This is a great tool we need to make the most of.

In the energy sector wind and solar are now the cheapest forms of new energy generation again ff is loosing market share. As the cost of the electric vehicle drops the oil industry is screwed. Well ok nuclear power is more expensive but diesel fuel for electricity is right up there.

@65minimom it's not vengeance it is simply applying Judge Kavanaugh's own legal standard to insure he feels confident that the matter has been handled in a manner which he clearly has demonstrated is appropriate. We should apply his precedence as a member of the second highest court in the land to how we handle his own investigation. We should also honor the ruling where he stated that while not admissible in courts law enforcement has proven that lie detector tests are a useful tool in job interviews. By his own rulings it is useful to require a lie detector test so clearly he can't object to requiring one for himself. By the same token he has proven that digging into every detail of someone's sex life is valid. He is about to learn why the bible says do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

A 4 floor building where someone worked and did a story on it covered by democracy now today said there are 2 bathrooms on the first floor so you have to walk down 4 floors and across the warehouse to go to the bathroom. That is crazy I have worked in factories and in industry manufacturing centers I have never seen a building without bathrooms on every floor or more then about 100 feet from anywhere in the building. But Amazon tracks ever minute of your day and you get in trouble if they can't account for 5 minutes of your day that is crazy micro management and to top it off they don't pay enough for these hard working people to actually earn a living with 40 hours work. This is wage slavery we are better then sweat shops in 2018. But your defending the companies which are back over 100 years ago with their additude twords labor as nothing more then a tool to be used till it is broken then replaced.

My hope is that Ro Khanna will be VP. He is more in line with the Bernie Sanders Movement and VP would make him most likely to continue the movement after the Sanders presidency. Tulsi Gabbard also has the advantage of being able to look anyone in the eye when they say do you know how these cuts will effect our troops and say yes as a veteran I am very much aware of the needs of our troops. Glory to God you are 100% backwards on progressive taxation. If you tax higher earners more on their earnings the incentive is to reinvest the earning of the company into the business. If you have a flat tax there is no incentive to reinvest the earning into the company the incentive is to pull them out of the company and use them for personal income. This is easy to verify all you have to do is look at the CEO compensation vs re investment in the companies from the 40s through today. What you will see is CEO compensation and shareholder gains skyrocketed in the 80s when trickle down economics was invented by the GOP. But from the 40s to the late 70s we had the golden age of growth in this country when we had top marginal tax rates peaking at 90%. The data is out there you just have to study history and not listen to the pludocrats who only want to protect their wealth and power. Oh and it is interesting that you think Republican President Dwight D. Eisenhower was a "commie" because we had the highest taxes under his administration.

But you are ok with paying the salaries of the air traffic controllers that they depend on for their planes to fly that next day delivery across the country. @lewistaylor2858 actually the government created the money. But the laborers working for Amazon collected it from the economy and brought it into the company through their hard work. Jeff Bezos didn't create $149,353 of new money every minute last year. He knows he doesn't earn that money it is why he calls it winnings not earning. Because he know the people working for his company did the hard work which pulled that wealth out of the economy Jeff Bezos was just fortunate enough to skim away the fruits of their labor.
