@Yea___ the insurance companies didn't cause the drug manufacturer to raise the cost of a covid shot 1000% in the USA once the government stopped paying for them. That is pure unregulated greed of maximum profits in in capitalism. The only question the drug companies ask is how much will someone sacrifice to not die and where is it most profitable to let a large number suffer and die for our maximum return on investment from those who can afford to live.

The simple first step is to make any product developed with public funding part of the public domain. Don't let private companies take government funding and end up with monopoly protection under patent laws.

@reginaldmustardbacon5866 the usa is the one which has a capitalist healthcare system. Where the market sets the price based on what you would pay to not die. Other countries figured out that is extortion and their government setup a socialist healthcare system where there is some form of single payer system because it benefits all of society to make sure we are healthy. Not just a few wealthy capitalists to profiteer off the illnesses of others.
