A 3rd party requires rank choice voting first

@davidroberts1689 and when we have enough states with it to win the electoral college we will have a chance of getting a 3rd party presidency. I am hoping that the independent wins a senate seat in Maine this election cycle.

@thinkingitthrough I don't know what star voting is. But a single round of rank choice voting on the same day nationally sound great to me. I would be just as happy to see the primary BS end and I live in NH where we get flooded with politicians in the current system.

@MrErpolitics we can get multiple parties and rank choice voting without a constitutional amendment. What you are suggesting would require a constitutional amendment. Maine and other places in the USA have proven that rank choice voting and more parties is far easier in the USA than a constitutional amendment to change the voting system. I definitely don't want the gop controlled Senate to write a constitution amendment to alter our voting system.

@mattsmitchger259 nope I am perfectly ok with the corporatist right wing dividing their vote between two parties so long as we get a 3rd party for the progressives to concentrate our votes in. Heck the right can split their vote as many ways as they want so long as there is a separate party for progressives.
