  1. They don't believe it they just don't care. They view politics as a zero sum game and so long as their team wins nothing else matters. I have a brother in the gop cult. It is totally useless to discuss anything with him because he gas lights refusing to take anything seriously. When you prove them wrong the just jump to the next distraction because they don't care.
