  4.  @matthewgibbs6886  putting batteries in the building site that would store onsite power for days or having backup generators on site with stored fuel on site would keep the power on so long as the building itself stood. After the building fails there isn't anything to plug in. But it is more profitable to not invest in backup generators and storage but to depend on the grid. So no there are solutions that are reliant to the winds in question just that good caplistist find it cheaper to hang wires on wooden poles and replace them after the wind blows them down. After all it won't be the caplistist class who suffer they hope into the trump tax write off private jet and fly away until after the grid is back up.
