Comments by "Dan A" (@DanA-nl5uo) on "US Senate passes $1.9 trillion COVID relief bill along party lines | DW News" video.
8 Democratic senators and all Republican senators making $1054 per day just voted down $120 per day minimum wage by 2025. They feel that the current minimum wage of $57 per day is all the working class Americans should be paid. These senators literally make $1000 per day worked more than minimum wage plus benefits. Priceless

@barbarawarren9443 unfortunately until we get rank choice voting and the people's party the only alternative is the Democratic party which just voted to keep the minimum wage a starvation wage.
5
That was done back in the 80s when the GOP elected the oldest president.

Yup 20 billion dollars would end homelessness in the USA but not one politician faught to get that in any of the government spending programs.

@patrickstar686 don't worry the federal reserve already proved they will create 20 trillion dollars to cause a V shaped recovery in the stock market. The top 20% of Americans who own 80% of all stocks can rest easy their wealth will continue to be protected by the federal reserve at all costs just like it has sence 2008 The millionaires in Congress made sure the billionaires who bought them their seats of power will be protected at all cost.
2
Because 8 millionaires in the Democratic party and all the Republican millionaire in Congress know they are wealthy because the deny the working class a living wage. We need rank choice voting and a people's party or the millionaires will continue to increase income inequality forcing more Americans to literally live in their cars or on the streets. 20 billion dollars would end homelessness in America. We just passed our second almost 2 trillion dollar package in a years and created 20 trillion dollars in new currency yet out of all that money no member of Congress fought to say put in the 20 billion that will end homelessness for our most at need citizens. Tells you everything you need to know when Elon Musk getting billions to build rockets that blow up after landing is more important than ending homelessness.

Money left over???? You are kidding right $1400 in a one time payment for Americans who are upwards to a year behind on rent and mortgage payments won't come close to meeting the needs. 1 in 3 Americans will still be looking at eviction.
2
@dacadz so you think there was no way to move 2 senators when the entire relief bill was in the ballance. You know it will never pass alone but you don't care. Got it
2
Funny how you hear people take about debt when it comes to politics they dont like but never when it comes to the military spending the same amount of money on their "Ferrari" of fighter jets they only want to fly one day a week. When the military came asking for another trillion dollars to make the Lamborghini to park beside the F35 their own generals called a Ferrari the right wing just said sure please take trillions from the tax payers and build another military fighter jet you dont want to fly.
2
Yup stop electing millionaires to government if you want that to change. Fight for rank choice voting and join the people's party.
2
@hemanshuchudasama3535 in the USA both the house and Senate have to pass the same legislation before it becomes law. 6 members of the house could stop this bill from becoming law same as 8 members of the Senate stopped the house version of this bill from becoming law because they wanted to deny Americans a living wage. But neither the house or the Senate can pass law on their own. Our system is designed to protect the status quo.

8 millionaires in the Democratic party just stopped millions of the least paid Americans getting a raise. I wouldn't be too impressed with that accomplishment. $1400 one time payment interchange for a raise from $7.2 to $15 per hour is a very bad trade for the working class Americans. But it was a great deal for the 8 millionaires who get paid $1054 per day by the American taxpayers and got to keep paying those taxpayers they employ $56 per day worked.
1
Helen Pauls ever single Republican in Congress just voted to block a raise for the least paid Americans. That tells you what you need to know about the Republicans
1
Helen Pauls do you not know how to look up who voted for and against the $15 amendment on the bill? It is a matter of public record along with the net worth of our senators. Unless you consider the congressional record part of Q in which case you need your head examined because you no longer believe in reality.
1
Wrong that was the 20 trillion that the federal reserve created and dumped into the stock market in 2020. This is money that is comming out of the federal government which is tax payer funded. The billionaires get the money from the federal reserve because it doesn't require Congress voting to give them money.
1
@SwordOfTheSpirit-I- the federal reserve did print 20 trillion dollars in 2020 and pumped ot into the stock market to make the V shaped recovery. The federal reserve has been creating trillions sence 2008 each year. Where is that hyper inflation you are worried about after more than a decade of printing trillions and giving it to the wealthy making Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk the wealthiest people on planet earth?
1
Did you file taxes in the USA in 2019? If the answer is no you dont get the $1400 check end of story.
1
@dacadz why so it can be blocked by the GOP??? You tell me why we need to use the process that requires 10 members of the GOP vote for it? Instead of the one which simply requires the VP exnore bad advice from an unelected government official.
1
They care about their promises. Joe Manchin just kept Joe Biden's promise nothing fundamentally changed. The donors get to keep paying $56 per day labor while the taxpayers pay senators $1054 per day worked plus benefits.
1
@jonathanhijlkema8247 any Democratic senator who is willing to vote no has the ability to be make or break any legislation and get what they want it is just basic math. Bernie Sanders Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey could have just as easily forced the legislation to stop dead until the $15 minimum wage was put back in that passed the house. Infact the American public is overhauling on the side of the $15 minimum wage so if it comes down to a pressure campaign the senators who actually fight for the working class would win. But non of them are actually willing to use their power to block the bill.
1
@jonathanhijlkema8247 doesn't change how much power the senators have. At the end of the day they get to choose how they vote.
1
You have your issues confused but if you want to end the Petro dollar buy an EV and solar panels. I have an off grid solar system.
1
@hemanshuchudasama3535 in the USA we have two parties owned by corporations. Both of our parties would be considered far right win in any European country.
1
@suinsarbayev2191 wow you are even less intelligent that senator Johnson who needed to have the bill read to him by the clerk of the senate. You should go listen to their reading you will see the figure you pulled out of your backside is wrong.
