There are only what 3 or 4 nuclear power plants in Germany that have not been decommissioned already. This isn't a solution to the energy problem.

Renewable energy to replace ff will create jobs not cut them.
4
Iceland seems to be doing ok with renewable energy.
3
@jabirmahdi3546 you need to look at reality per megawatt renewable energy employees more people than ff power plants
2
The free market has spoken the future is wind solar and storage. It is the cheapest form of new energy generation today.
2
@Thunder_Yoda nuclear not subsidized???? That is funny I don't know a single government in the world that has nuclear power and hasn't heavily subsidized it.
2
@RazorMouth the free market has spoken nuclear is the most expensive form of new energy generation. Wind solar and storage are the cheapest solution for the power grid.
2
@manuelle844 so you are saying what that the rest of Europe had a bigger labor pool to build out renewable energy solutions faster?
1
@manuelle844 oh bigger countries need more than one or two power plants. Glad you told is no one would have known you need to scale the power grid to the community.
1
@youdontneedtoknowwhoiam9612 you say that like it matters.
1
@youdontneedtoknowwhoiam9612 lol and here I thought hydro dams powered entire cities including the heavy industry in them. I see how you could have overlooked that I mean it is new technology only been used for over a century now
1
@Kenny-bj2zq only 10 years away if you choose not to live it today. My off grid solar works great
1
@ragincajun7625 the better question is how many lost their lives.
1
@Thunder_Yoda the USA just gave the nuclear industry a 6 billion dollar bailout not to build new plants but just to keep existing one operating. That tells you how bad the ecominic situation is for nuclear power. You tell me which government has had to give solar or wind farms 6 billion dollars to keep operating after they where installed and the constitution costs paid for. Spoiler alert you can't because solar has zero operating costs. I know this because my solar system works without any additional mantaince.

The best way to deal with ff "leakage" is to replace the demand with renewable energy.

@DilbertMuc the world will be far better off with far less plastic anyway. You now consume over 40 lbs in your drinking water and food supply. Plastic is killing us all. As to fertilizer Nitrogen makes up the bulk of our atmosphere. I have a small farm and haven't used chemical fertilizers or pesticides in over 30 years with no harm to my crop yields. The ones dreaming are those who think we will continue to live the Petro chemical lifestyle in the future. The end of the ff era is here now or the end of life on planet earth. Seems like an easy choice to me but then I already made it decades ago and have been reducing my consumption as much as my budget will allow for decades.

@RazorMouth ask the British how fast Hinkley Point has come on line. The history of nuclear power is over budget and behind schedule regardless of which countries build the plants. Wind and solar are far faster to bring on line.
1
@sidoniewinterpasternak9938 people don't live where there isn't some form of renewable energy. Unless you think Iceland is the solar capital of the world.
