@bill8711 or you could do like I did and install an off grid solar system. Mine cut my monthly bills in half. The home equity loan is literally half what the power company wanted before they raised the rates as I left. But you do you.

@bill8711 living in the USA I know full well how much the ff industry subdies and wars cost us. Over 5 trillion dollars in the last two decades of oil wars alone. I would rather invest our tax money in renewable energy then bombs and ff to kill life

@nuqwestr the nonsense is you thinking we need to change the lifestyle of all 8 billion people. The wealthiest 1% are responsible for twice the carbon emissions of the bottom half of all humanity. This is a lifestyle choice by the top 1% of our society.

@nuqwestr you think people are in love with their Petro dealer not the work that energy does for them. Interesting I have to assume you never road in an electric vehicle. The reality is the avg person doesn't know or care if their power company burns coal or uses renewable energy so long as the light switch turns the lights on and the stove cooks dinner Renewable energy is now the cheapest form of new energy and EV have the lowest total cost of ownership. The economics have spoken people want the less expensive solution which now isn't ff.

They are naturally forests. The Pacific northwest is thousands of acres of forests. Some of it has been cut over the years but they grow back with native species.

@gamingtonight1526 yup this is what tipping points and a critical mass problem looks like. Having been a controls engineer for decades I can assure you when you see the effects it is really too late to address the causes. But ofcourse we have no choice we need to stop using ff and start accepting what the new climate will demand of us.
