@ZohmBe end private schools so the politicans have to send their own kids to public schools and you will rapidly see them turn around. This has also been proven in Scandinavia.

@ZohmBe The how do you pay for it question has to be asked of our current for profit healthcare system. Medicare for All has been proved in every single study to save us trillions of dollars over the next decade. So if you are worried about the debt burden your kids will live under you should be in favor of Medicare for All because they will pay less for government single payer insurance then for private sector for profit insurance.

@jccgold I take care of my elderly mother who is on Medicare and has been hospitalized and in nursing care mutual times over the last few years so yes I have first hand experience with how both our private for profit insurance and our Medicare system works. She gets the same care today she got before she was on Medicare with the same doctor at the same hospital the only difference is we don't get a denial of service notice from Blue Cross anymore saying that they are sorry but they don't cover some of the services because while the doctor was in network the test he requested was out of network. With Medicare the government simply pays the hospital the Medicare approved rate and it is done.

@jccgold with all do respect. Senator Rand Paul with the best healthcare plan we have in the USA went to Canada recently for his surgery. His problem wasn't cancer. But Medicare for All would not change the hospitals ability to diagnose patients it would only replace our private insurance with government insurance. We already know how Medicare works in the USA elderly people on Medicare do not have any longer wait times then people on private insurance they go to the same hospital and get the same treatment. The only difference is that the federal government actually pays the hospital as apposed to our private health insurance industry which will send you a bill for thousands of dollars that magically isn't covered because they make the most profit by denying coverage in a for profit system.

@jccgold oh please tell me which country has a 100% private healthcare system that you think is better then the system we have in the USA. I will wait. But the Wold Health Organization ranks the USA 11th after 10 countries with single payer healthcare so it will be a long wait while you find the 100% private healthcare system on that list ranked better than the USA.

@jccgold you can not argue that the private sector funds all the drug research and development because you are factually wrong. The government sponsored most all of the drug development costs. And last time I check Medicare is all about healthcare you can't live without. When we talk about Medicare for All we are talking about life and death healthcare not cosmetic surgery. So to your very point the free market has no place in a service you will die without. I am glad we agree on that point. AOC has a message for you about the funding of R&D you will notice the CEO of the drug company sitting across the room from her being questioned doesn't argue with her about the fact that the government infact funded his research and development not the private sector. https://youtu.be/HIQk5B0il-A

@jccgold so you can't name one country which has your 100% corporate system. Sorry but the fact that a relatively new laser surgery which is very heavily dependent on computer imaging technology has drop is price isn't an impressive example. I designed the laser tracking system used in that surgery back in the mid 90s and could explain to you why the costs dropped it has everything to do with the advance technology and nothing to do with the medical system.

@jccgold oh as to how well the caplistist free market works in decreasing costs you should look at the price hike of 400% for an EpiPen just a couple of years ago. That is how the Free market sets the price to the maximum people are willing to pay which when life and death are the options the maximum profit margin doesn't leave the customer in a fair bargaining position. It isn't like you can skip medical care and save money if the alternative is you are dead.
