  1. Pre WWII we had major wars across the globe every 20 years. Since then we have had mostly a stable world. We have had small wars up until Bush started our never ending war on oil. But moving back to pre WWII military conflicts is scarry. I am not pro the American military machine but NATO was a good deal.But Merkel was talking about climate change and the fact that the United States refuses to step up and stop burning FF. It wasn't a comment about the US being the world police force. Germany France and China all believe we have to deal with climate change before the earth heats up to the point. We can't survive. That is why Merkel was saying we can't depend on the usa because trump cant deside if he is in or out of Paris.
