  1. Go back to how the income tax started. My grandfather told me when he was a kid working people just didn't pay an income tax because the standard exemption was set above what you needed to earn to just make a living. Probable about $60000 in today's money it was a progressive tax on income above that. My grandfather said in those days if you paid taxes the last thing you did was complain about it because it instantly ment you had made more money then most people so you didn't want to point out you where making more. That is the system we need to go back to where people just getting by don't pay anything and the insanely rich pay.

  2. Kyle I think you missed the point of the artical. It wasn't ment to say this is the minimum standard of living. It is ment to show you how out of touch with reality the rich are because the rich people think they need all that crap. It is ment to make you realize how much of a class structure we have. This is why we need a to raise the estate tax to 100%. These people who grew up with daddy war bucks doesn't have a clue what life is really like.
