  1. Yes when the software can't find a solution it hand control back to the operator sometimes seconds before the crash. I figured it is to limit liability for Tesla

  4. Wait till GM starts racking up data from their hands free driving where the ads show people literally distracted clapping to the music and not paying attention to the road. This all reminds me of the class action lawsuits when Ford Pintos would explode in a rear end collision because Ford didn't want to pay to move the rear bumper mounting bolts that would puncture the gas tank. I suspect this AI driving will end the same way with big court cases.
