We tried better but not great with the ACA I don't want another half measure centrist approach.

@jeanlucbergman479 Bernie Sanders doesn't eliminate supplemental insurance. Just like the current system in the USA supplemental insurance simply is not allowed to cover anything already covered by Medicare because that would be sham insurance.

@jeanlucbergman479 allowing the private sector to cherry pick the healty people and force the sick onto the government system is only a way to protect our current broken for profit healthcare system. Americans are sick and tired of filing for medical bankruptcy. We are sick and tired of the failed private sector insurance industry denying us the critical care we need to survive.

I made the same comment in Jimmy Doore video. This would be similar to our criminal Justice system where if you can't afford a lawyer one will be appointed for you. But if you don't want the public defender you have to buy your own better lawyer. With her healthcare system you can get the public doctor but if you want to see the specialist you better be able to pay for it.

@jeanlucbergman479 Bernie Sanders is keeping the same system we have today with Medicare plus supplemental insurance. My mother is on that system and it is very popular with senior citizens who have it. To claim that Medicare is not a popular system today is pathological.

@subzoronltd7779 Bernie Sanders only bans private insurance covering anything that is covered by Medicare. That is the law today with supplemental insurance in the USA. The idea that anyone would want to pay an insurance company for duplicate coverage that they could never collect on because Medicare is paying the bill is crazy. If you read Bernie Sanders plan you didn't understand it or how Medicare plus Supplemental insurance works in the USA today. Bernie Sanders is simply expanding our current system to cover all Americans not just senior citizens and to cover more types of care. Please explain to me why I should want to buy duplicate coverage from a private for profit company which will refuse to pay the bill because it is already paid by Medicare? That would be insurance fraud selling insurance that the buyer can not collect on. So you are upset that Bernie Sanders prevents fraud? Really that is your argument that you think people want to be the victim of fraud?

@jeanlucbergman479 so you think people want to buy fraudulent insurance. Because in the USA if Medicare covers it the insurance company will refuse payment. I know because I have dealt with Medicare and supplemental insurance. If you don't understand why banning duplicate coverage is illegal in the USA you don't understand our system. We don't allow insurance companies to commit fraud.

@subzoronltd7779 but that is the point behind supplemental insurance in the USA. If you have Medicare today and it doesn't cover anything like the private room you can buy supplemental insurance to cover that. This doesn't change with Medicare for All. My mother has Medicare plus supplemental insurance. I had to deal with both during a recent multi month nursing house stay of hers. There where things she wanted one of them was a speciality care center that was above the cost of a standard nursing home. Infact part of what she wanted was a private room. Medicare covered the cost of a shared room and her supplemental insurance picked up the additional cost to pay the full private room fee. This won't change under Bernie Sanders Medicare for All. The ban on private insurance selling you coverage for things covered by Medicare simply means that the private insurance company can't bill you for insurance to cover 100% of the private room cost then force Medicare to cover the cost of a basic shared room. That would be insurance fraud as you could never collect on the private insurance full room payout. You gain nothing by allowing people to opt out of the basic system all it does is allows the insurance company to offload the high risk people on the government.

@subzoronltd7779 Bernie Sanders plan is much more like the Canadian system. Private hospitals with public insurance. The UK has public hospitals which is like the veterans administration in the USA. That a totally different system then Medicare. As to high risk pool. Today in the USA insurance companies already price the high risk people off the system. Medicare covers the elderly and Medicaid covers the poor both the highest risk people in our society. Private insurance in the USA is unaffordable unless you get it through your employer then the plan is limited to what your employer chooses for you. The doctors are limited to which ones in your area choose to accept the insurance plan you have and most employers switch plans every year in a bidding war conducted by the Human Resource department with the focus being on limiting the cost to your employer. Private sector insurance in the USA is an out of control system which profits off denial of service.

@jeanlucbergman479 you should really read my other replies. You are the one on the outside who has a problem listening to others. The projection in your last post was amazing.
