@Khalkara where is that floor vote for Medicare for All she promised during her campaign and then refused to force the vote for? Where is the woman who was going to stand up to leadership and do the correct thing? I remember he saying she wasn't scared of establishment leadership then she ended up literally crying after Nancy Pelosi talked her into voting for funding for Israel to keep killing Palestinians. So much for standing up to power and standing on the correct side of history to help the oppressed. Ask her fellow squad member how she felt about that vote I am sure she remembers.

She knows who she has sided with. She just put her career as top priority not policies she ran on. She never wanted to risk being a one term member of Congress

@Kevo6492 why would it have been bad to hold the speaker vote for a week in the middle of a pandemic to get a vote for Medicare for All?? Please do tell me why giving people healthcare during a pandemic would be a bad thing. I will wait because I would love to know why politicians shouldn't provide healthcare during the time more Americans are dieing because the lack health insurance during the pandemic. The statistic are very clear that lacking insurance killed Americans so why would it have been bad to take a week to get a vote to give them the health insurance that would have saved lives?

@angelantayhua3096 really you don't think there was anything else from the Justice Democrats platform that they could have bargained for? I wish you where correct and that Nancy Pelosi had passed that platform and Biden signed it into law.

@Khalkara if you can't find where she ran on getting Medicare for All you didn't look very hard

@Kevo6492 Nancy Pelosi took the position as speaker on January 3rd 2019. The $1400 checks where votes on March of 2021. So tell me how would it make any difference on the timing of those checks if the squad had forced the vote for speaker to take a week longer in 2019? You are talking about something that didn't get voted on in the same year.
2
@Honorbound43 who said the squad should have voted for the GOP??? Did Matt Gaetz vote for the Democrats? What a poor understanding you seem to have of the situation
2
@Kevo6492 are you saying as many people where dieing for lack of $1400 as where dieing for lack of health insurance?
2
@Kevo6492 lol on week in January would make no difference months laters. You just have a very poor strawman argument. Because you can't find anything that was passed in the time we are talking about. So apparently you just think $1400 one time checks months later where worth more than Medicare.

@seanwilliams7655 yup remember the video of Nancy Pelosi asking the speaker of the house to have a vote for Medicare for All? History definitely has repeated itself. All you have to do is compare her salary with the increase in her net worth over her time in the house to see why

@richardreese8038 if you have to ask you don't understand who is living in the worlds largest open air prison
1
@richardreese8038 lol you keep trying to miss the point.

@angelantayhua3096 lol she had every bit as much power as Matt Gaetz had to hold out for 15 rounds of voting and get concessions from Nancy Pelosi. It is literally in the DSA handbook which she clearly didn't take to heart as a DSA member. Sad when Matt Gaetz is better at following the DSA handbook than their members.

@angelantayhua3096 if you think AOC is acting like all members of Congress have for the last 200 years you clearly haven't followed how Joe Manchin and Joe Lieberman used their leverage to get things they wanted in legislation.
1
@Kevo6492 do you need to have 100% conformation to hold a vote? That seems like a very bad attempt to avoid answering the question of how a week wait to get Medicare for All voted on during a pandemic would have been harmful to the public that was literally dieing for lack or health insurance during the pandemic.
1
@Kevo6492 lol sure the one time check that was $600 short of the campaign promises being delayed a week 🤣🤣🤣🤣 if Nancy Pelosi really was worried about those checks though she could have agreed to a floor vote for Medicare for All on the second round she didn't need to be as stubborn as Kevin and wait 14 times before deciding to move forward. But clearly you don't believe M4A was worth the delay of a single round of voting. I am willing to bet there is nothing that passed in the first week after Nancy Pelosi was voted speaker of the house that would have saved more lives in that week than Medicare for All would have saved through the entirety of the pandemic
1
@Kevo6492 I am saying that the house didn't vote to give it to them withing one week of when Nancy Pelosi was voted to become speaker so your are making a bad argument because Nancy Pelosi didn't get it to them as fast as you said she did. You have to find something that passed the house withing the time it took for Kevin McCarthy to cave after Nancy Pelosi was voted in. Because that assumes she is as stubborn as Kevin
1
@Kevo6492 are you saying we should trade a lifetime's worth of M4A for $1400?
