@Conservative Miner Projection always shocks me. Trump literally put his name on the one time payment to Americans. If you want to see who politicized the pandemic look no further than the memo line of the check you received. Because the answer is clear. Trump has politicized the pandemic. Trump told us we had 15 cases and it would be down to zero soon. Well over 1 million cases later and more Americans dead than in the entire Vietnam war later clearly he was wrong. Trump said the virus would die in the heat of April and be over. Well here we are in May the virus didn't die we have over 800,000 cases in the USA today. Trump told you to take drugs he had financial investments as a cure for the virus. But stopped pushing that when the science proved it was killing people. Then he switched to telling people to expose themselves to cancer causing UV lights and injecting deadly chemicals into their body. The entire time telling the EPA to reduce regulations on air pollution and disposal of hazardous waste. Telling companies that the government is ok with increased pollution so long as the companies blame it on the pandemic. I could go on with how trump has politicized the pandemic like having his son in law confiscate medical supplies from blue states and distribute them to states like Florida which trump needs to win his next election. But I suspect you don't care because you put party over country. Because you are a fascists who only sees the political system as two sports teams red and blue.

The difference is that in Canada they have a 3rd party putting pressure on the liberals. In the USA the two parties are both controlled by the same donors and the lesser of 2 evils logic has been used to trick people into consent for their rule. Don't vote for Joe Biden who has said nothing will fundamentally change. Vote Green party in November to force a 3rd party in the USA because we need our own 3td party to force our government to listen.

Being humble isn't how you gain political power. It is an admirable trate in your personal life but when it comes to winning public support you have to make your case to the people. You have to take credit for your victories or people don't know who to reward for them. Ro Khanna is pretty good at this in the USA. He will go on Democracy Now and tell the people what policies he is fighting for. Sorry I don't know enough about Canadian politicians to give an example from your country.

That is a fair point. But it only shows that our politicians have to work harder to find a way to fix that problem and get their message out there. In your Bernie Sanders example he failed when he decided to alway call Joe his friend and to say that ofcourse he would support the nominee. Because it accepted the framing of the establishment. You will notice that every single establishment candidate at the debate refused to say they would support the candidate who had the most votes saying it needed to go through the entire process. I am a strong supporter of Bernie Sanders but he didn't fight back against power. He should have told the media that Joe Biden himself stood on the debate stage and said we needed to let the process run to completion. That he would stay in the race until all 50 states voted. Because we need this primary to insure we secure our election process before November. He should have used his campaign to fight for 100% absentee ballot vote by mail in the USA. He should have worked with Ro Khanna and AOC to call out the failure of Democratic leadership to force vote by mail as part of the pandemic response. Progressives need to learn that when the establishment fights dirty you also have a voice and use it. That is the one thing trump understands. He knows how to force the media to give him airtime.

@ricardobarahona3939 but Bernie Sanders didn't fight Biden and point out hit faults because he considered his friendship more important. Calling him his friend every two seconds is just the proof of that. It is what held Bernie Sanders back from following the advice of David Sirota and others in his campaign who wanted a much more aggressive approach pointing out Bidens weaknesses. But the reality is the over 50 voters only voted based on the relentless MSNBC, NPR,and CNN propaganda. They spend the last 4 years trying to insure the corporate power structure is not disturbed. The networks don't want Medicare for All or drug companies profits cut because some of that wasted money ends up in their advisement budgets. They have a financial obligation to protect that revenue.

What that the NDP is effective at getting policies passed?? That is why we scream that we need a 3rd party.

@ted___ I would take Single payer healthcare and $2000 per month Canadian as a massive improvement over the USA one time payment of $1200 and medical bankruptcy response. Not saying you have Denmark levels but compared to the USA without a 3rd party Canada is looking like a country which actually handled thing well. Granted Boris Johnson is even left of the United States government these days so that is a very low bar. But I would welcome the NDP party here if you don't want them anymore.

Duncan in the USA we only have 2 parties that are on the ballot in all 50 states. The others parties have not crossed the 5% national vote threshold to be viable and force their place on the ballot of all 50 states. So at the moment we do effectively have a 2 party system. That said I have become a supporter of the movement for a 3rd party because I believe over the last century the two parties in the USA have become one controlled by the same donors. Which is why Biden said nothing will fundamentally change if he wins.

Duncan it is true and why Kyle Kulinski keeps saying only 10% or the voters who voted green party would have actually voted for Hillary Clinton anyway. You can register as an independent candidate in all 50 states but it takes a massive grass roots campaign to get enough signatures to get put on each ballot. As to the media crying it is a tool to manufacture consent. They need people to believe the 3rd party candidate cost them the election to deflect from the failure of the candidate to actually earn votes. Also if enough people realize there is an alternative they will lose power. Our current system depends on both parties being the only choice or you can't force people to vote against their best interests.

Only so long as the people are taken care of. In the USA leadership is being met by armed angry mobs because the government has failed us. The only thing the government here has remaining to them is to try and trick the people into believing the others are their enemy. But people are waking up to the fact that people like Nancy Pelosi saying calm down we will get to you later. And Senator Graham saying we will help the unemployed over my dead body are both the reason why people are unemployed and losing their lives in this pandemic. Be grateful for the governments which have grown in support because while credit might have gone to the wrong people it shows that the people are not desperate enough to take guns into government buildings which has happened in the USA.

@ricardobarahona3939 I don't disagree there we see the same thing here in the USA. It is by design that the "liberal" party will be weak in a neoliberal system. It is how the corporations insure that whichever party wins the workers lose.

@toddstevens13 oh Jimmy he has definitely gone off the deep end at times. That explains a lot. I mostly limit my Jimmy Doore to when Dylan is on.
