You can't be self employed without giving up your employer based health insurance and a small independent worker can't afford health insurance because you have no bargaining power with the large for profit insurance companies.

It is greedy when the 12th wealthiest person in the USA worth 65 billion dollars switches parties and runs for president because it will save him 5 billion dollars in taxes over the current front runner in the Democratic party. It is greedy when the billionaire president of the United States has the secret service spend $600 per night at his own resort to protect him while he plays golf on the weekends. It is greedy when the president of the United States spends $3.4 million in taxpayer dollars on a superbowl party at his own resort where he keeps the profits. It is greedy when the FF industry which has been around for over a century receives $20 billion in US taxpayer funded subsidies.

The president who is now forcing the Justice department to track down his political opponents because he has been so harmed by them. @andreanacalhoun5402 so do you enjoy your own private jet that the government bought for you as a tax write off thanks to the Trump tax cuts? Because it is out of both my budget and needs so I didn't get to take advantage of that tax cut Trump passed for the likes of Jeff Bezos.

Agency in Repose there is also a reason why every other developed country has a form of single payer healthcare and they pay half pre capita then the USA for healthcare. You look ignorant when you defend the most expensive healthcare system on planet earth based on cost. Our system is functioning as you would expect a for profit system designed to maximize profits requires that life saving treatment must by definition cause bankruptcy or the provider has failed to meet their fiduciary obligations to maximize the profit being that their service is worth your entire worth because without it you die. For profit insurance companies have an obligation to deny you services as much as possible to maximize their profits. The only way a for profit middle man can maximize profits is to overcharge you for services you can't collect on.

@andreanacalhoun5402 my Republican brother did. He used wick to raise his kids. Myself no I didn't need assistance but I am grateful for the fact that my tax dollars from my engineering job where able to insure my brother who worked as an automotive mechanic and his wife who worked 2 jobs while raising their 3 children where able to keep food on the table for their family. Ironically my brother seems to enjoy voting against the very same social safety net he uses. I do love how you think a private jet for Jeff Bezos is equal to providing food for poor children though.

@andreanacalhoun5402 what do you have against public education? We already provide k-12 which a century ago our ancestors realized was required to provide the education their descendants needed. Given the last century of technology and change in the work force we now need to provide k-16 to provide the same quality of life for our children we enjoyed because our parents paid for our k-12 education. The same as how my grandfather's parents realized that the 8th grade education their generation had wasn't sufficient any longer and that they needed to provide their kids with 50% more education by switching to 12 year system. Today we only need to add 25% more to our public education system to keep up with the advance of technology over the last century.

@andreanacalhoun5402 you seem to have totally missed the point of my post it was my right wing brother who depends on the social safety net. But it doesn't bother me that my taxes funded it. Because I know he and his wife have done the best they can to earn a living. That our society with insane income inequality simply doesn't value his skills enough.
