  1. When you depend on the barrons of industry through deregulation you end up without redundancy or reliably. That is the real lesson to be learned. This was 100% avoidable but it would have cost the energy companies some of their profits.

  2.  @radamson1  the only problem with the wind turbines is that the cheap energy companies didn't winterize them same problem with their gas generators that are frozen solid. The wind turbines in Antarctica are working just fine. Last time I checked Antarctica was colder than Texas. Is there a flour shortage? Because wind mills make flour not electricity. If you are too stupid to do your mantaince anything will fail. But clearing snow off a solar panel is way easier that thawing out frozen piles of coal.
