  1. This "Sanctions eased in exchange for Russian withdrawal from Ukraine" pitch hangs on what is meant by "Ukraine" and the extent of the "easing". Crimea is clearly Russian; the eastern Donbass is neither one nor the other; and only if the sanctions are rolled back to less than were in place before the outbreak of hostilities would it make sense for Russia to pursue a strategy of negotiation. I don't think there is a snowballs chance in Hell of this "offer" being accectable to "Madman Putin". Putin is hardly likely to agree to be Biden's bitch. This just more dishonesty from Washington.
