Thanks for answering one of my queries TIK. Tripling forces in Denmark makes sense, the Danes resistance was more subtle than blowing things up and you could actually rest and refit troops there, fed from local resources adjacent to the Reichs rail network still and also in a position to reinforce Norway if necessary. The figures I had in my head for Norway were quite a bit larger than you showed here. The Scandinavian deployments make more sense now the exagerated information I was relying on has been corrected. Take your time geting well, it should be obvious from Stalingrad the dire effects of running on empty. You are doing a great job; but YOU are more important than it. TTFN.

When you are starving the population and killing hundreds as reprisal for ones and twos, i imagine that helps keep the population cowed. Another thing to remember, Belarus and Ukraine had just swapped one jackboot for another. If they didn't have the means to oppose Beria and his thugs, where do you think the means to oppose Himmler's thugs was going to come from? The likes of the Ordnung Polizei existed anyway; totalitarian regimes always have thugs on the books that can't be used as a military resource. If they were, the regime collapses. Stalin also had hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of internal security troops tied up and trains and railways keeping Gulags full when they might have been better used elsewhere. we had the same problem in the Middle East; probably 90% of that command was tied up in occupation duties, admin and logistics. It had a terrible tooth to tail ratio.

First you have to build the assault ships and landing craft, as well as the logistics to support the breakout from the beach head and blah blah blah. Considering 'Torch' though, a direct assault from across the Atlantic if I remember correctly, an Anglo-American assault on that sort of timescale might have been an outside possibility. You have to remember though that Churchill had serious willies about the Krauts - he thought they had used 3000 heavy tanks to take France and had been over-egging the Luftwaffe & U-Boats specifically. Corporal Jones' "Don't panic!" cries in Dad's Army satyrised this.

@TheImperatorKnight But is that really so? My priors: 1)Tankies; Fellow Travellers; Korisne Budale; and Wehraboos will be over-represented 2) The Playable Characters will be asking far too many intelligent questions; the NPCs far too many naive ones. 3) There r no stupid questions; only stupid answers. 4) TIK will want to "Tidy up the battlefield" and b late breaking out of the beachhead. 5) TIK will then hive off to Brest for some random reason. This all adds up to: "There will be no 2nd Front this year or next." :-)
