The panzer III was ordered by AH to have a long 50mm gun. He was ignored. This had a knock on effect by time he discovered he was being lied to. The Germans went east not as well equipped as the could have been. I've also wondered why a panzer IV with a sloped glacis at least wasn't produced. All that aside, the least said about British armour the better. The USA had monster tanks too, only the fact they could not be shipped across the ocean easily, or be used in a landing, stopped them building them.
