  1. You are rediculous. You don't listen and you don't look. The car has a lot of minor tweaks that add up, it has different wheels, and it sits lower. It has more power than standard. It's not a CS or CSL model. If you're whinging about it, you're definitely not wealthy enough buy a car like this so your whining doesn't matter.

  4. Why should they change the interior design? That's as relevant as the idiots saying "The car looks like the old one". Well it's not going to look different, apart from small design elements. The interior is high quality and well laid out. BMW doesn't need to change the design to suit internet "experts". The design works and no it's not the same as 10 years ago. It's very different.

  5. A base model X4 is challenging visually, but with M Sport body kit and trim, maybe some lower suspension, it's looks decent to me. This X4M looks cool, but I'd take the X3M just for the added practicality (if I could afford one).

  7. When a Tesla or aother EV can do 700+ miles on a charge and I can pick up a lightly used example for £20k I'll consider giving up on diesel. There are currently NO viable alternatives to diesel for long trips when it comes to economy. Hybrids are useless for long journeys, petrol is up 30% less efficient for a given engine size (BMW 320D vs 320i for eg) and full EV just does not have the range. If I'm travelling across Europe I don't want to be forced to stop for up to 45 minutes every 3-4 hours. How about diesel trucks? EV going to replace millions of trucks around the world in the near future? No? Thought not.

  9. How do you know the M5 competition is slower around the ring?The M5 did a 7.39, the Alfa did 7.32, but the CP has not been tested so your cheap little Alfa hasn't been proven faster. The Alfa is not a luxury executive saloon you foolish fool and it's worth tens if thousands less because no one one would pay M5 money for it.

  10. the cunninghams I’m more than happy with my E91 320D Touring. It doesn’t quite have as much “Dad space” as I’d like but in m-sport trim and being black it looks great and its very economical. Best purchase I ever made. The car has been 100% reliable to date and it’s done 130000 miles 👍

  15. If we all drove EV's there would be more strain on the grid and more strip mining to get more lithium for the batteries. EV is not as clean as the propaganda claims.

  17. Wess Lee it costs several times more than the Octavia so it's bound to be more comfortable but there is no doubt the skoda has far more room inside with a much bigger cargo area. Perfect as a taxi :)

  23. Great review :) It's a very interesting car. Lets be honest, 99% of people who complain about cars like this and the features they offer, will never even sit in one, nevermind be in a position to own one. Manufaturers know their customer base. Edit: Also with regard to the hot V for the turbos, Audi and BMW use it too, so I guess in the premium German market you either live with it, or buy something else.

  25. Do you know how expensive it is to put enough solar panels on your roof to make it workable? Very expensive. Electric cars that are a realistic alternative to an ICE car cost 2 to 3 times more (if not even more). Not to mention that in many parts of the world winter months are utterly useless for utilising solar power due to the lack of sunlight. They cause far more damage to strip mine Lithium than they do to extract oil and gas. Yes oil and gas are a pollution issue, that's not in question but to pretend that electric power is clean, is very naive.

  26. nakul singh agreed. For such a big car the interior space is rather small. The boot space isn't good either for such a long car. It may have a lot to do with the long bonnet and engine bay which means the passenger space starts quite far back.

The Bmw is very refined, very luxurious, great for families and very quiet from the inside. You made a great choice but you didn't necessarily choose the better car. As long you're happy that's all that matters. No one else's opinion is relevant; your car, your money, your life.

  33. It does, but so what? It's an evolution of design, not redesign, or a revolution. Under the skin is where it counts and this new car is in a whole different league. I do think they missed an opportunity to make the car look more agressive though.

  39. Keksi the Labrador perfect if you need a lot of cargo space with 4/5 people on board. The boot space is on low side for such a big car. Still, if I could afford the 4S diesel I'd buy one in a heartbeat. It's beautiful and a perfect long distance cruiser.

  42. For the next few years Hybrid is the best way forward. All electric is simply not good enough with current technology. I don't want to have to stop for 30-60 minutes every 3-4 hours on a long trip and have to divert to chargers. All electric is is not as clean as the marketing claims either. The batteries use lithium which is strip mined, causing extensive damage to the environment. While use of the final product may seem clean, the whole process is not.

  43. BMW are going to have to offer a XDRIVE version of the M5 to compete with Audi and Merc, but it's unlikely they will. This is a dream super saloon.

  44. trim105 Wow, thats pretty cool. The new Xdrive system can send 100% of the power to the rear if required so it should keep the a similar dynamic, but make the car more stable and more driveable in all conditions. Cheers

  45. :) Absolutely, the E63S AMG sounds like insane. Nothing BMW can do with the 4.4l V8 will ever sound as good. In fact the new M5 is going to need to be seriously brilliant to even match that E. Good times :)

  47. No one cares about the cargo space with the rear seats folded. Why are reviewers so obsessed with it? I'm pretty sure most people care about cargo space when it comes to passengers and their luggage.

  48. That gear selector looks like they raided the E90 3 series parts bin. It’s totally different from the more modern design. I think this X2 will be quite popular but I’m not sure it’s very different from the latest generation of the X1.
