  3. Amazing... I'm not sure how I feel about 100% tarmac version of Pike's Peak, because it takes away the challenge of dealing with gravel and tarmac, but it is a bit safer and allows for faster times. It's a great hillclimb.

  9. Amazing tribute to racing history. I think the 956 could go even faster with modern racing slicks, modern brakes and Timo driving. The two cars are from totally different eras so picking a favourite is not an option. The EVO is also no longer a "standard" race car and is tuned way above a standard 919 Hybrid. If I'm not mistaken the Evo is 16 seconds a lap faster around Spa than the 919 and is actually quicker than the best Formula 1 lap.

  13. I can confidently say my 8 year old bmw is more fun and handles better but man, the old tech could do with updating. This looks amazing.

  14. Seeing as most people regard these big SUVs as ugly, I'd take the tech fest that is the X7 and save £200k. It's built on the same chassis and even though it's not quite as luxurious, it's still more than good enough.

  17. In reality it’s probably no quicker than a Senna GTR around a track and no quicker than a 765lt in a straight line. 1700kg weight means 590bhp/ton and nowhere close to a Valkyrie. It’s a great car though 👍

  19. It makes the AMG GT 4-Door Coupé look like it's been beaten half to death with the ugly stick. This M8 (concept) is beautiful. I hope BMW don't ruin it when it goes into production.

  24. I can only laugh at the fools with no money whining about the best update the X5 has ever had. Sure the grill is oversized, but it's no more vulgar than AMG's Panamerica grill. The interior is far superior to the old one and the exterior lines are sleeker and more modern. More people like it than not. You can't please everyone and this will please those who actually matter; buyers, not internet trolls. I'd order a new M50D in a heartbeat if I had the funds.

  25. I have to say I'd take the X3 M40i. It drives like a slightly taller sportscar and it's so close in performance to an M140i. If anyone doesn't believe me just head over Joe Achille's channel and watch his latest video. The Audi and Merc are great SUVs but they drive like SUVS.

It's not all about the power, it's more about the aero, the tyres and the brakes, all of which are vastly improved from Bellof's day... all of which serves to highlight how well Stephan did in the 956. BTW twice the power would never result in a bigger time difference because that would defy the laws of physics ;)

  31. If I was a rich guy who wanted to buy a BMW, I'd have to choose a M5 Competition over this 8 series. The M5 CP costs less, is just about as luxurious, is much quicker, far more versatile in that you can carry 3/4 passengers and is slightly shorter. Not saying the 8 series isn't a fantastic car, but to me it's not worth more than a M5 CP. The M8 (Gran Coupe) is going to be stupidly expensive, but awesome.

  40. The overall design of X7 is very futuristic, the interior is brilliant but.... from the front it looks like some sort of mechanical beaver. The Kidney Grill is too big this time. Too upright. They went overboard. I think it's a test for the Rolls Royce Cullinan, which will be based on the same platform and use the BMW V12.

  42. I'd take the X7 and be happy, if I was going to buy a large SUV :) This is fantastic though, the luxury and ride quality are second to none, even if it's exterior design isn't for everyone.

  43. The X5 has a great road presence. It's probably the most "muscular" looking SUV. hopefully they do a good update on the interior. The new X5M shoulkd be insane when it comes along in a year or two.

  49. I know many people complain about the lack of a combustion engine but we can’t get away from EV anymore. This car is an incredible technical achievement.
