  1. Just to pick you up on the title. You imply a need to recognise "causes". I guess you mean antecedent conditions and forces driving the mass gatherings protests and violence. This is exactly wrong! again you fall right into the left's trap! If you claim causes in this loose way and then maybe talk about data you make the agents into people without reason, only reaction. This is to fall completely into the lefts social theory and conflict model of data and risk prevention. You need to shift to talking about reasons and legitimacy, else your protesters look like mindless thugs reacting like a weather cock to the whether. If the later causal explanation is allowed to be the dominant vocabulary then rather than using economic science and common law to solve the objective problem they can use psychological science and medication to cure you of your perceptual illness and lack of mindfulness.
