  7. I am a natural-pathic NP. Many doctors think all LDLs are bad. This is a misnomer. There are 2 kinds of LDL. Small-density LDL are the artery-clogging bad ones. Large Buoyant density LDL is not that bad. But LDL levels combine both. Don't let your doctor order you a statin just because your total cholesterol or LDLs are high. If your triglycerides are <150 and HDL >50, you don't need cholesterol medication.
