@aidanmclaughlin8354 Self defense from what? Other people with guns?
2
@aidanmclaughlin8354 Right, so if somebody is forced to go to a black market and spend an inordinate amount of money to purchase a weapon, there first mission is then going to to be to use it on a common home invasion or mugging?
2
@aidanmclaughlin8354 Bruh, you really think that if guns were much harder to obtain prices wouldn't go up? Higher demand means they can set the prices
2
Right! The second amendment is here and it's here to stay. The Bill of Rights is famously un-amendable. I am always saying that to my slaves
1
So you're saying why focus on the weapon when people will always carry out attacks?
1
@nelsonvazquez8104 So you want stricter regulations and gun control?
1
@nelsonvazquez8104 So by recognising that, are you not acknowledging in some ways that guns are a large part of the issue due to how easy they are to obtain and effectiveness in killing?
1
I completely agree. I explained that to a bunch of Americans as one reason why I wouldn't want to live there and they couldn't seem to grasp it
1
@autiovaa5255 There was still a shooting though, regardless of the length of it. And how should that one instance make anybody feel safe after something like Sandy Hook, or the Las Vegas shooting?
1
@autiovaa5255 He would have found a way to do harm anyway? So we shouldn't try to keep guns out of the hands of individuals like him because he would have just tried anyway? If you told me I was going to be present at an attack where everybody is potentially armed with guns, or there is one guy with a knife or bat versus an entire church congregation, I am going with the knife/bat
1
@ExLibrisMortis For you in your life. Try telling that to a victim of gun violence
1
SsSs RoBbSs What's painfully juvenile is the way you continue to address people you think have an opposing view to you. Really worrying that you potentially own lethal weapons whilst possessing the maturity and social skills of a child.
1
Suuuuure it did.....
1
I still don't get how after events like Sandy Hook, there wasn't sweeping gun control changes made. The NRA surely can't have that much influence
1
@autiovaa5255 1. It is. We could get into the whole "well regulated militia" debate, but note that I did not say anything about taking away the right to own a gun, just encacting gun control. Something many other countries have done and have done successfully. 2. Again, that's only if a buy back is intiated and how exactly are you getting the idea of figures in the trillions? 3. Gun control is not unconstitutional 4. Defending themselves against what? My guess would be guns in a large number of cases. And citing the number of deaths only shows what a problem it is that needs to be addressed
1
No, the constitution protects your first amendment rights.....
1
@bubbabluehorn Tyranny doesn't come suddenly and quickly need an armed population. It happens gradually over time with an erosion of rights. That can be challenged with courts, protests, voting etc. No guns required
1
@pwn3apple603 No they can't. That's why there are checks and balances in place
1
@bubbabluehorn Not at all. Gun control is not the removal of one's right to bear arms in the way that supression of speech is the complete removal of freedom of speech, for example
1
Right, that one instance several hundred years ago required guns and an armed militia. And when have they been needed again since?
1
@Kitkat-986 Right, it's a slow erosion. So tackle it head on. Protest, use the power of the vote, ensure that the checks and balances in the Constitution are being followed. No guns required
1
SsSs RoBbSs You are the one with surface level thinking. The comment never said there being anything about less guns equalling less shootings, though that clearly does make sense. They were talking of the difficulty in obtaining a gun. The kind of screenings and gun control the USA is in desperate need of
1
SsSs RoBbSs First off thank you for approaching things in such a mature manner. Really convinces me that you should be allowed to possess a firearm. Right, legal gun owners do nothing wrong, so why should they be punished for the actions of somebody else? It's not fair. My buddy can drive great after a few drinks. Never caused an accident, even when he says he doesn't remember actually getting home. Solid driver. So why should he have to limit his fun on a night out just because a few people don't know how to handle their alcohol and drive after? I have also never once tried to hijack a plane, so why should anybody be searched at an airport?
1
You mean bias against gun-owners? If they had such bias, why make this video in the first place?
