The claims presented here that scientists are just brushing things under the carpet because of their inability to solve the problem must not be true. I doubt Kuhn himself understood the physics or science. It is very likely that he was a crackpot unsuccessful physicist and turned to criticising science because of his own weakness. It is very clear that he is making false claims.

@mathieuL2204 Your vulgar language and irritation imply my comments are effective. I don’t think I should talk to you further. Still one thing I would say, this man, I mean Kuhn didn’t understand theoretical natural sciences i.e. Physics.

@worstedwoolens Thank you, you have made a long and thoughtful comment. Look, Physics is the set of laws that governs the universe. Scientists have not created those laws, but have found/discovered the laws already existed there. Therefore, the concept of paradigm is totally not applicable in this field. Physics is not language, it is not software development, it is not engineering, and it is not social statistical research or not anything having such imposed statistical and vague nature. You do not have the freedom of shaping that architecture but to accept it as it is already there. Kuhn has done nothing more than creating his own carrier as a hero, as a centre of critique, confusing a large proportion of people who are actually messing in the field of physics and natural sciences without actually understanding the job they are doing by providing them with some actually futile ideas as munitions that can be used to criticise the more successful, great scientists and the way they have achieved their discoveries or achievements. Khalil Gibran is another man profoundly successful in his own field of literature, philosophy, and spiritualism who has done something similar to Kuhn’s work but in a different field, which is actually nothing but has confused a large number of people with some vague propositions.

@worstedwoolens It would be pointless to continue this kind of argument and counter arguments because; it will not be able to resolve this Kuhnian vague issue before the universe ends. I couldn’t find any reference where a prominent scientist praised or appreciated Kuhn’s propositions and critiques. The only bit of information I have managed to find is, Freeman Dyson said, “I am not a Kuhnian”. I don’t think and have not heard somebody saying that, after the publication of Kuhn’s book The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, Physics and the paradigm the physicists are accustomed to have even slightly changed. Physics, physicists and their research is progressing following its optimal trajectory as it did before and will do in our future. There is not a better possible way because, physics is special, and it is to do with finding the hidden laws of nature, everything very specific, unique and often counterintuitive like no other sciences. Kuhn has not given or has not shown a better way of doing physics but he actually just criticised the very successful scientists because of jealousy and his own ignorance. It is a kind of sabotaging the honour of very successful and great people. There are other such examples. The book “The Day After Roswell” is another example of such an approach.
