  1. This might be true. But whether it is a good news or bad news for the west is yet to be contemplated. The bad thing is that, due to the anxiety and the hopeless situation of the ongoing war the western scholars and politicians have lost their capacity of judging the goods and the bad. Since the war started hard line nationalism is rising in Russia rapidly. The hard liners want to replace Putin by somebody who is truly anti west. Because, they believe Putin’s approach to Ukraine is too soft and harming Russia. Putin has been in great pressure from the hardliners to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine but Putin has not yet done anything like that. Nationalists think Putin himself is pro west and therefore should be replaced by a hardliner leader who would crash and level the Ukrainian cities within days using the most destructive weapons available in Russian collection.
